Bah

We were going to a wine tasting place. We joked with violet that it was a Bah, magnifying the New England accent.

"After we go to the Bah, as Mommy referred to it, then are we going to the playground?"

Sometimes she can be so proper.

Dressed

Our house had been empty for about two years before we moved in. I was thinking about that so I said to Violet, "I bet if our house could talk it would say thanks for bringing back the Christmas cheer."

Violet said, "I bet it would say thanks for getting me dressed."

I laughed and she continued to explain "Because putting on decorations is like getting dressed."

"Exactly right, buddy," I said.

New bag

We were at a parade and I saw that Violet was now sporting a new bag.

"Violet, what did you do to get that bag?" I said.

"I did nothing."

OK fair enough. Got me in a technicality. "Who have it to you?" I asked

"One of those karate girls," she said pointing to a passing float.

It's like she's a lawyer in training.

Backwards

Violet was just about to jump into the tub. Her toe touched the water and then she popped up and said, "Ooh, I have to go potty."

I checked the temperature of the water and heard Violet peeing. Then I heard Violet giggling.

I looked to see what was funny and saw that she was sitting facing into the toilet, rather into the room as normal.

I really didn't know what to say. I half marveled at her creativity, but was half surprised that she hadn't done that before.

The most intelligent thing I could think of to say was "Buddy, you can just never do that if you've got to poop, OK?"

"Why?" she asked.

"Because it will make a big mess. The poop won't go in the toilet."

Massage

Violet gave us massages today.  She had Christie and me take turns laying down, while she gave us very pleasant rub downs.

"Violet, thanks so much.  That was a great massage."

Violet said, "Thank you. You can visit my website at massage.com."

Big Jasper

At Violet's preschool Christmas party, her teacher, Mrs. Rotti told us a story:

Mrs. Rotti had seen Jasper when Christie came to pick up Violet from school.  She said to Violet, "You're brother is a big boy."

"Yeah, he was big when he was born too!" Violet said.

"Oh, really?  How big was he?" she asked.

Violet, who always has an answer, said, "He was 51 pounds when he was born."

Christmas Sentiments

At Christmas, we were all asked to fill out cards, to be read a grace, stating what we were thankful for in 2014, and what we're looking forward to in 2015.

I transcribed Violet's for her.

For 2014, she had me write, "I'm thankful for God."

For what she's looking forward to in 2015, she had me write "I'm looking forward to God, just God... And Monkey!"

Pirate?

Violet and Lila went to the Children's Museum with their Aunts today.  After several hours of play, they sat down for a snack at the eating area of the museum.

Partway through their snacking, the Aunties notices that both of the girls weren't eating, and were mesmerized. They looked around and saw a man in a kilt.

"What's up?  Are you looking at that guy?" Auntie Nicole asked.

"He's a pirate," Violet declared.

"What?"

"He's a pirate!"

"No, he's wearing a kilt.  Sometime men wear those."

"Pirate!"
