Annie

Violet told me, "Call me, Annie."

"OK, Annie," I said.  "I thought you were Violet."

Violet looked at me and said, "I got rid of my old name."

Halloween Ideas

Out of nowhere, Violet told me, "I want to be Santa Claus for Halloween next year."

"That's a clever idea, Violet," I told her.

"Ho, ho, ho!" she yelled.

Surprises

Violet's not good at surprises.  She likes being surprised, but for all the abstract concepts that she's picked up like nothing, she just doesn't understand how a surprise works.

We'll tell her, "Violet, I have a surprise for you."

Violet instantly says, "What is it?"

"Violet, it's a surprise," we say.

Undaunted, she says, "What is it?"

"No it's a surprise.  You'll find out later."

"What is it?"
