Hiking

We took Violet to a state park for a hike today. Once we were in the
woods Violet very loudly said, "Bye, bye car!"

We then got to some stone steps that led to the edge of a lake.
Violet looked at the steps and declared, "I can do the mountain," and
marched up them.

I explained to Violet about the trail we were on and that she needed
to follow it. We pulled off in a nice spot and laid out our blanket
for a picnic snack. Some people passed us by near to, but not exactly
on the trail. Violet didn't like that and yelled to them "Get on the
path!"

We went to the side of a river and looked at a wonderful wide
waterfall. At first she found the roar of the water overpowering, but
once we backed up a few paces to a quieter spot she liked it.
I asked Violet, "Isn't it pretty how the sun bounces off the water?"
Still standing, she folded over, doubled in half and screamed "It's
sooo pretty!" She screamed it over and over. I love her quiet
appreciation of nature.
